Javier Zanetti has confirmed that he will not be going to this summer's World Cup finals.The Internazionale star was hoping to be included in Argentina's 23-man party - but coach Jose Pekerman has confirmed to him that he will not be travelling to Germany.
"Pekerman phoned me and told me that I will not be travelling to the World Cup, but I knew it already most of all from the press," said Zanetti.
"This was said more than a week ago that I wasn't going to be included in the list. This hurts me but it's one of the things that happen in football.
"Nobody has told me anything about what I did wrong for not being in the next World Cup.
"I am calm because I know that I did my best, I have always been ready for the national team each time that I was called.
"The only one that knows why I will not play the World Cup is the coach.
"I am going to be from now on more than ever the fan number one of Argentina."
