Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson resigns as Clyde boss

Former Rangers and Scotland captain Barry Ferguson has resigned as manager of League Two side Clyde.
Ferguson took over at the Bully Wee in June 2014 and led them to the play-off final last season but leaves them sitting eighth in the division and without a league win since November 19.
Sky sources understand Ferguson would be interested in a return to Rangers in any coaching capacity following the departures of manager Mark Warburton and assistant David Weir from Ibrox earlier this month.
The 39-year-old won five top flight titles and five Scottish Cups with Rangers as well as the League Cup with Birmingham. He also played 45 times for Scotland and had a brief spell as caretaker boss at Blackpool in 2014 before he joined Clyde.
"I want to wish the club all the very best in the future. I hope that it can go on and achieve its aim of reaching the play-offs this season," Ferguson said in a club statement.

That statement added: "The board has today reluctantly accepted the resignation of first team manager, Barry Ferguson.
"Despite a welcome run in the Scottish Cup, which ended with an agonising defeat to Championship side Ayr United in a fifth-round replay, both the manager and the club were disappointed with the recent poor run of league results, often not reflecting the effort and standard of play, which culminated in the defeat at Annan yesterday.
"That result leaves the club with only an outside chance of achieving the objective of securing a play-off place and then promotion to League One.
"The club would like to thank Barry for his unstinting commitment to the job over the last two and a half years and wishes him every success in the future."
