St Mirren boosted their Scottish Championship survival hopes with an emphatic 5-0 victory over fellow strugglers Raith Rovers at Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Stevie Mallan scored twice for the hosts, with further strikes from Rory Loy and Lewis Morgan and an own-goal from Declan McManus securing a comfortable win.

The win sees the Buddies leapfrog Raith in the table, climbing to eighth, and they could climb as high as seventh depending on Dumbarton's result against Dundee United in the evening kick-off.

Ayr United remain rooted to the foot of the table, three points below Raith Rovers, after losing 4-0 at home to champions Hibernian.

Jason Cummings struck twice for Neil Lennon's side with Martin Boyle and James Keatings also on the scoresheet.

Dunfermline defeated playoff-bound Morton 3-1 in their final home game of the season.

Nicky Clark put the Pars in front after just three minutes before Lawrence Shankland levelled for the visitors before the break.

Michael Moffat restored the hosts' advantage with a low shot in the 51st minute and Rhys McCabe wrapped up the three points five minutes from time with a deflected shot from distance.

Falkirk were held at home by Queen of the South as they battled to a 2-2 draw.

The visitors took an early lead through Stephen Dobbie before Nathan Austin headed the Bairns level.

Falkirk took the lead when Aaron Muirhead scored from the spot after Austin was fouled by goalkeeper Lee Robinson but Dobbie nodded an equaliser to ensure it ended honours even.
