Bristol City have turned down a £6m bid from Brighton for centre-back Aden Flint, Sky Sports News understands.
Flint has established himself as a key player for Bristol City since joining from Swindon in the summer of 2013 and was named man of the match in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
Birmingham City were interested in signing the 28-year-old last August but were put off by Bristol City's £10m valuation.
Flint has 18 months to run on his current deal at Ashton Gate.
Despite playing in defence, Flint has established himself as a prolific goalscorer, scoring 34 goals in 187 league games for the Robins, including 15 in 2014/15 when they were promoted from Sky Bet League One.
Brighton are looking to make their third signing of the window, following the captures of Jurgen Locadia from PSV Eindhoven and Viktor Gyokeres from IF Brommapojkarna.
