Barnsley defender Martin Cranie and striker Leroy Lita are among six players released by the club.
The contracts of Cranie, Lita, forwards Nana Boakye-Yiadom, Kane Hemmings and Rhys Oates, plus defender Jean-Yves M'Voto all expire in June and will not be renewed. The Reds are keen to keep hold of defender Lewin Nyatanga and are currently in talks with his agent, while striker George Maris has been offered a new deal. Midfielder James Bailey and winger Milan Lalkovic have both been told they do not figure in head coach Lee Johnson's plans and have been placed on the transfer list. Bailey signed a two-year deal when he arrived on a free transfer from Derby last summer, while Slovakian Lalkovic put pen to paper on an 18-month contract in January. Cranie joined the Reds in the summer of 2012 following his release from Coventry and signed a new two-year deal the following June. Lita joined on a one-year deal last August following his release from Swansea.
