Former Cardiff and Huddersfield centre-back Anthony Gerrard has rejoined Oldham on a deal until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old, who made six appearances during a loan spell with the Latics at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, left Shrewsbury by mutual agreement last week.
Gerrard, a cousin of former Liverpool and England captain Steven, was pitted against his former Shrews team-mates after being named in Oldham's starting line-up for Tuesday night's Sky Bet League One clash.
