Gerardo blasts bad-boy Bowyer
Bowyer appeared to deliberately stand on the Spaniard's head after a rash tackle which had left the Malaga star prone on the Elland Road turf.
Bowyer has subsequently come forward to acknowledge his guilt over the incident, but Gerardo slammed the conduct of the England international.
"I know this is not the first time Bowyer has done this," said the Malaga star.
"He carried out an almost identical assault on Juan Sanchez (Valencia) two years ago.
"It was in almost the same position of the pitch as where Bowyer stood on me.
"It is very disappointing to hear that a fellow professional would admit to trying intentionally to injure another player.
"I have heard that Uefa are looking at the incident."
The 28-year-old also went on to express his disbelief that referee on the night, Massimo Busacca, did not take further action against Bowyer, who received just a yellow card for the offence.
"I can't believe he was so close to the incident and yet was unable to act as he should of."
