Cardiff City are in advanced talks with Norwich over the transfer of Kyle Lafferty, while Federico Macheda has left the Bluebirds after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Lafferty moved to Carrow Road two years ago but has only made 13 starts for Norwich, scoring three times.

Since leaving Rangers in 2012 he has played for Sion, Palermo and Turkish team Rizespor.

He had a stint at Nottingham Forest earlier this year, but has now left the Bluebirds with 12 months remaining on the deal he signed two years ago. He scored six goals in 27 appearances for them.
