Full-back enjoying life on the South Coast
Southampton full-back Jon Otsemobor is hoping to secure a contract to stay at St Mary's beyond the current season.
Otsemobor has made 11 appearances for Southampton since joining the club on a free transfer from League One rivals Norwich City in January.
He returned from a recent injury in Thursday's 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion and is now determined to retain his place in Alan Pardew's side.
The 27-year-old is enjoying his time on the South Coast and is keen to demonstrate that he deserves a long-term deal with Saints.
"I need games to prove I can do a job here," said Otsemobor in the matchday programme for Monday's game against Leyton Orient.
"The last thing I needed was an injury, but now hopefully there's still enough time to show that I have a future here. I certainly hope so because I love the place.
"When I heard at Norwich that Southampton were interested, I even badgered the chief executive there to hurry things up.
"I knew they'd made a lot of progress since coming down with us (Norwich) last season, but I didn't realise how much until I got here. You feel you're at a club moving in only one direction and that is up."
