Premier League officials will meet Southampton's proposed new owners on Thursday to discuss a takeover deal.
Sky Sports News HQ understands the Premier League expressed concerns about Lander Sports Development's takeover two months ago.
The League is expected to receive an update on the company's plans and the suitability of their offer to buy the club.
Southampton and the Premier League have yet to comment.
