West Ham's Premier League victory over Tottenham was marred by ugly scenes between supporters prior to the game.
Some were seen throwing missiles including glass bottles as Spurs fans made their way to the Boleyn Ground along Green Street from Upton Park underground station.
The police kept a cordon of 20 metres or so between rival fans using dozens of officers, horses and police dogs.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed to Sky Sports News HQ that there were three arrests - one on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and two for affray and assault on police.
West Ham co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan released a statement prior to the match urging supporters to "act as ambassadors for our club".
"Any fan acting inappropriately - including racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic behaviour - will be banned from attending future matches," the statement read.
"It is vitally important that every West Ham United supporter attending the fixture remembers that they are acting as ambassadors for our club."
The statue of the club's 1966 World Cup winners was also boarded up before the game, which West Ham won 1-0.
