Wigan have confirmed that defender Jonjoe Kenny has returned to Everton following his loan spell at the DW Stadium.
The England youth international made seven appearances for Wigan in Sky Bet League 1 but has now been recalled by Everton at the end of his two-month loan deal.
"Jonjoe's loan was due to expire and we tried to extend it, but Everton called him back," Wigan manager Gary Caldwell told the club's official website.
"It's disappointing for us because he's done really well, it was a good experience for him playing league football, but there's nothing we can do about it and we have to move on.
"I'm a little bit disappointed because he was doing well for us and we were doing well for him, but when it's a loan Everton are his parent club and they have the right to call him back."

Wigan have been boosted, however, by the return of on-loan Tottenham forward Shaq Coulthirst, who had been having treatment on a thigh injury back at Spurs.
Coulthirst, 20, featured twice for Wigan in August before picking up the injury and Caldwell said: "He's back now to work with our medical team and he's hopefully a week or two weeks away from full training.
"His attitude has been brilliant, we've kept contact with him, and he's been excited to come back and start working with us again."
