Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has welcomed the imminent arrival of compatriot Kevin De Bruyne, saying the squad "can't be big enough".
De Bruyne has undergone a medical ahead of a proposed move to the Etihad Stadium for a fee of over £50m, according to Sky sources.
Speaking after his side's 2-0 Premier League win over Watford on Saturday, Kompany said the imminent arrival of De Bruyne will help City as they challenge for trophies on all fronts.
"We'll see once everything's been confirmed," he said.
"We'll have another player who's dangerous, can score goals and is really efficient.
"It's going to be a long season with a lot of competitions, and the squad can't be big enough."
Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho scored in City's victory over the Hornets - their fourth in succession as they continue an impressive start to the season.
Manuel Pellegrini's men have yet to concede in the league this season, scoring 10 without reply, and Kompany is delighted with their start to the campaign.
"I'm a defender, and a defender by heart as well, so the fact we're not conceding for me is just as important as scoring a lot of goals," he added.
"On the other hand, the most important thing is to win games, and we keep doing it convincingly.
"But it's a long season so it means nothing yet."
