Pep Guardiola says Vincent Kompany's leg injury is not serious after the centre-back missed Manchester City's 0-0 draw with Huddersfield in the FA Cup fifth round.
Kompany, 30, has made just six appearances for City this season and has not featured since the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the previous round on January 28.
The Belgium intentional had been in line to start against Huddersfield but was absent from the squad at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday, and Guardiola confirmed he had picked up a problem in training.
"Two days ago he felt something in his leg. It is not a big, big issue but today he was not able to play," said Guardiola.
However, the Spaniard gave no timescale on when City's captain may return to action.
Kompany has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons and featured just 14 times in the league last season campaign, suffering from recurring calf complaints and a groin issue.
The centre-back has also had two serious hamstring injuries in the last two seasons.
City next face Monaco at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, before hosting Huddersfield a week later for the fifth-round replay.
