Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has been ruled out of action for "a couple of months" after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury.
Taylor has played two Premier League games for United this season, but the injury forced him to miss their last two.
And the centre-back has gone under the knife to fix the problem once and for all.
"He had a scan on his hamstring," boss Steve McClaren said. "He's had a small operation to repair the damage and unfortunately it looks like he'll be out for a couple of months."
