Tottenham's Danny Rose is expected to miss the start of next season after surgery on his damaged knee.
The left-back damaged knee ligaments during a Premier League game at Sunderland on January 31, and a recent return to training proved premature.
Spurs confirmed on Tuesday their England international had an exploratory operation on his left knee and named his return date as "next season".
Sky sources say Rose is unlikely to be fit for the start of the new campaign and could be out until September.
Rose, who is approaching his 10-year anniversary at White Hart Lane, signed a five-year contract in the autumn.
