Arsene Wenger's future as Arsenal manager could be finalised at a club board meeting next month.
It is understood Arsenal's board will hold a routine meeting before the end of the season, including largest shareholder Stan Kroenke and chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
Wenger has yet to reveal whether he will sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium after 21 years at the club.
Arsenal maintain it will be a mutual decision and Sir Chips Keswick, the club's chairman, told Sky Sports News HQ last month: "Football's a very uncertain game isn't it, you don't win them all. [The season] started well, it's become rather disappointing."
Keswick declined to answer questions on Wenger's future.
Arsenal travel to Middlesbrough tonight in the Premier League for Monday Night Football, live on Sky Sports 1HD.
