Arsene Wenger said the Premier League would be won with 86 points after being backed by his chairman to "take Arsenal forward".
The Gunners boss, inside the final year of his current contract, was given a standing ovation at the club's Annual General Meeting on Monday when he was presented with a portrait by majority shareholder Stan Kroenke to mark his 20 years in charge.
Recent Arsenal AGMs have been marked by unrest among shareholders but Wenger was warmly received as he vowed to fight for a Premier League title he believes will be won with a high tally.
With his team tied with Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table on 20 points after nine games, the Frenchman said: "We have a competitive team in a competitive league.
"If you look well after nine games, the first trend is set, as they have 20 points. So the champion will have 82-86 points. Every game is a fight in this league.
"In every game you have to be absolutely at your best to win. For everyone else it is exactly the same, you have to be really focused on details, at a top, top level for every game. Every detail can make a difference to get you points."
Wenger has repeatedly said he will not consider his future until the end of the season and Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick was full of compliments when asked about the manager's future.
On a new contract, Sir Chips said: "We all recognise the fantastic contribution of Arsene Wenger, his huge energy, passion and desire, and we are confident of his ability to take us forward.
"We will sit down and discuss his future at an appropriate time, but our current focus is our strong run and competing for trophies."
Arsenal host Reading in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night and renew their Premier League battle on Saturday against Sunderland, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 11.30am.
Wenger added: "I believe the team has the commitment, togetherness, hunger, desire and unity and we have a good chance to compete for the Premier League.
"Our challenge is to compete for everything because I believe we have a squad that is more mature and better equipped to cope with all the challenges we have.
"That is the target and I am absolutely committed to fulfil and give my best so that we are successful until the end of the season. Let's meet these challenges together."
Other subjects raised at the meeting included the possibility of safe standing - "Arsenal retain an open mind", according to chief executive Ivan Gazidis - supporters leaving the Emirates before full-time and the prospect of keeping star men Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Both are out of contract in 2018 and Gazidis said: "We have a good track record in recent seasons of retaining our key players, developing young players and attracting new players.
"I can't get into a discussion on individual players but can assure you we will apply the same focus, rigour and diligence to members of our current squad and I think you can see the direction of travel."
