Arsene Wenger wants to add "one more" attacking option to his Arsenal squad after admitting he is light on experienced forwards.
The Gunners are understood to be in talks with Valencia over a deal for their German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi and have made three new additions in the current window - Granit Xhaka, Tasumo Akano and Rob Holding.
Arsenal had a £29.3m offer for striker Alexander Lacazette rejected by Lyon earlier in the summer, while Gonzalo Higuain, with whom they have been linked for several transfer windows, moved from Napoli to Juventus for £75.3m last week.
But Wenger maintains he would like to add an extra attacking component to his squad despite comments from chief executive Ivan Gazidis that the club "can't afford to outgun competitors" in the transfer market.
"At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of experienced players," Wenger said following his side's 2-1 win over the MLS All-Stars in San Jose. "But let's not forget we still have a few players at home.
"There are also a few players who did not play [against the MLS All-Star team], like [Santi] Cazorla and of course [Mesut] Ozil and [Aaron] Ramsey are at home. [Olivier] Giroud is also not here.
"So we have options but we will still look outside to find one more."
Holding played all of Arsenal's pre-season friendly against the MLS All-Stars after completing a £2m move from Sky Bet League One club Bolton Wanderers earlier this month.
Wenger was encouraged with the performance of Holding, and said: "He's adapted surprisingly well - he reads the game well and understands what's going on.
"He anticipates well and that's a quality you don't see very often at such a young age."
