Alexandre Pato will join Villarreal from Corinthians after an unsuccessful loan spell at Chelsea last season.
The Brazil striker joined Chelsea on loan at the end of January but scored just one Premier League goal and left the club with Radamel Falcao on July 1.
Although Corinthians were expecting Pato to stay at Stamford Bridge next season, they have now confirmed on their official website the 26-year-old will join La Liga side Villarreal after selling their stake in the player.
The figure remains undisclosed but earlier on Tuesday Marca reported the Spanish club will pay €3m for 60 per cent of Pato's rights.
Since the departures of Pato and Falcao the Blues have signed striker Michy Batshuayi on a five-year deal from Marseille for £33m as new manager Antonio Conte looks to mould his side ahead of the new campaign.
