We round-up the latest Manchester United transfer rumours on Friday, May 25.
The Sun states United are ready to pounce if Juventus do not take up the option to sign Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich, with the Brazilian rated at £79m.
Juve paid £7m to take Costa to Italy and would have to stump up another £33m to keep him, which they are expected to do, but the newspaper reports United are keeping tabs on proceedings in the hope of a breakdown.
Midfield target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be off United's radar after Lazio placed a £87.5m price tag on the Serbian, according to the Daily Mail.
Earlier in the season, the 23-year-old was offered to United for a fee closer to £70m, but increased interest has since driven his asking price up.
With Fred close to moving to Old Trafford, the Manchester Evening News is running a story featuring quotes from Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov which suggest United will pay the Brazilian's €60m release clause to sign him.
Akhmetov said: "This will be a market price, the fair price, and it will be beneficial both for the club inviting Fred and for us. That is, I can somewhat feel that Fred will be more expensive than Fernandinho and Teixeira.
"If Fred won Brazil caps and go to the World Cup, this indicates that Shakhtar has gathered a very strong and quality player. Why are they going? Because they know that they will come here, help us, create a name for themselves and tomorrow will be at the world's best clubs."
Fellow target Talisca has spoken to Brazilian Correio to say he wants to move to the Premier League, days after he was strongly linked with Manchester United.
When asked what country he would like to play in next season, he responded: "England. For the supporters, for it being a theatre, a show. Every game is a spectacle and I like it.
"United and Liverpool have both been linked with Talisca but the Brazilian gave nothing away when pressed on potential destinations.
"There is interest, there is, but there is nothing certain. I have not hit anything yet. It's just speculation. These things of negotiation I cannot speak."
