Tottenham's Danny Rose is the best left-back in the country according to Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend.

The former team-mates have faced each other already this season with Tottenham winning 1-0 in a game notable for Rose's reaction to Erik Lamela's nutmeg on Townsend.

The England man's hands instinctively went to his head in amazement, later saying: "It was brilliant, sorry Andros!" However, Townsend isn't one to bear a grudge.

"To be honest, the player I like playing against the most is Danny Rose," he said. "He's probably the best left-back in the country in my eyes.

"In training at Spurs we used to go at it in the sessions and we'd kick each other a lot so I do enjoy playing against him."
