Highlights of Everton's pre-season game against La Liga side Real Betis

Everton ended their pre-season tour of Germany by losing 4-3 on penalties to Real Betis, while Burnley beat Rangers at Ibrox.

The Toffees, who had lost 2-1 to Dynamo Dresden in their opening match of the tournament on Friday, opened the scoring after just 14 minutes when Tom Cleverley's corner was turned into his own net by Aissa Mandi.

However, Everton's lead lasted less than 10 minutes before Betis centre-back German Pezzella levelled matters after Ronald Koeman's side had failed to properly clear a set play.

As a result, the game went to penalties, with Everton duo Conor Grant and Kieran Dowell seeing their efforts saved, giving Betis substitute Charly Musonda the chance to win it for the La Liga team, which he converted.

Andre Gray scored a hat-trick as newly-promoted Burnley beat Rangers 3-1 at Ibrox, where Joey Barton was playing against his former Clarets team-mates.

Gray was off the mark after just five minutes from the penalty spot after former QPR defender Clint Hill had brought him down.

Scott Arfield's fine pass between the centre-backs set up Gray for his second, the striker lashing home from the edge of the box.
