Florent Malouda signs for Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos

Former Chelsea and Lyon winger Florent Malouda has completed a move to Delhi Dynamos ahead of the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).

Last month, Sky sources revealed that talks were underway to bring Malouda to the Indian capital where he will ply his trade under World Cup winner Roberto Carlos.

Malouda said: "I am extremely excited for my new innings and to join forces with Roberto Carlos.

"India has great football talent and a league like ISL will bring certain amount of interest and will help develop Indian football.

"I look forward to give my best to the league and make the Delhi fans proud."

Delhi's marquee player-manager Carlos, added: "Malouda is a classic player and brings with him years of world class experience."

The 35-year-old, who was voted Chelsea's Players' Player of the Year in the 2009-10 campaign, played in Ligue 1 last season for Metz after leaving Turkish side Trabzonspor in 2014.

But the ex-Lyon winger is best remembered for his time at Stamford Bridge where he won every domestic trophy and helped Chelsea win the Champions League for the first time in their history 2012.

Delhi's pre-season training is set to get underway this week ahead of the start of the league on October 3. Delhi's first game is at FC Goa on October 4.

Meanwhile, former Newcastle and QPR defender Peter Ramage has joined Cochin-based Kerala Blasters following his release from Crystal Palace.

Earlier this week, Blasters, who are managed by ex-England U21 boss Peter Taylor, snapped up former Arsenal youngster Sanchez Watt.

The 24-year-old forward has spent the last two seasons at Colchester, where he scored 10 goals in 55 appearances for the League One side.
