Watford are edging closer to the loan signing of Andre Carillo from Benfica, according to Sky sources.
The Peru international would require a work permit if a deal can be agreed.
Watford manager Marco Silva knows Carillo well, having worked with the 26-year-old when they were at Sporting Lisbon.
But Silva was non-committal when asked on Friday if a deal for Carillo was imminent.
"I don't want to talk at the moment, not only about Carrillo," said Silva. "I can talk when the players sign with us. When they are our players, I will talk about them.
