Gylfi Sigurdsson will sit out another pre-season Swansea game on Saturday amid ongoing uncertainty about his future.
Sigurdsson has been the subject of two failed bids from Everton, who this week offered Swansea a deal worth up to £45m.
City want £50m for their Iceland international, and the impasse saw Sigurdsson miss this month's tour of the United States because he was "not in the right frame of mind".
Paul Clement's side are back in the country and take on Birmingham at St Andrew's this afternoon, but Sigurdsson will not be involved.
A statement on the Swansea website read: "Gylfi Sigurdsson will not feature as it was agreed between the club and player that he would sit this game out due to the current transfer speculation surrounding him."
New boys Tammy Abraham and Roque Mesa are both in the squad.
