Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has told Jose Mourinho he has no chance of signing Raphael Varane if he becomes Manchester United boss.

Mourino has been linked with the Manchester United job following the Old Trafford club's underwhelming season under Louis van Gaal.

Mourinho signed Varane for Real from Lens in 2011 and if the former Chelsea boss were to take over at United, the centre-back is likely to be high on his list of transfer targets.

Zidane, speaking at his news conference ahead of Saturday's game with Athletic Bilbao, said: "Of course it is normal Mourinho would want to sign Raphael.

"He knows him well, he brought him here to the club. But I want Varane to stay in Madrid. He is the future of the club."
