MLS club enquire about defender; South African trialist released
Simon Grayson has confirmed LA Galaxy have enquired about Alex Bruce whilst also revealing trialist Matty Pattison will not be offered a deal.
Bruce is well down Grayson's pecking order having been loaned to Huddersfield earlier in the season and the former Ipswich stopper is out of contract in the summer.
Leeds are keen to trim their squad and wage bill, although Grayson remains unsure whether the MLS club will follow up their initial interest in the 27-year-old.
"They've enquired about the situation, but I don't know at this stage if anything will happen," Grayson told the club's
official website. "We'll see what happens with that one."
Several fringe players have been linked with transfer window exits from Elland Road, however, Grayson says there is nothing definite on the table.
"We've had one or two enquires, but nothing concrete at this moment in time," he continued. "We're open to one or two going out.
"Sometimes players don't always want the opportunities that maybe there, but things will change after the weekend when people think 'I need x, y, or z'."
Pattison
Meanwhile, Leeds have decided against offering a contract to South African Pattison despite impressing, as he feels the club already has plenty of cover for his left midfield position.
"We won't be doing anything with him," Grayson said of Pattison. "He did well for us in those few games, but we feel we already have players here in that role.
"He's shown a good attitude and I'm sure he'll go back to South Africa or wherever and do well.
"At this moment in time we didn't quite feel he was one who could take us to where we want to go, but he's a good player, he did well over here, and he'll make a decent career."
