Defender makes East End Park switch

Dunfermline have snapped up left-sided defender Patrick Boyle from Partick ahead of their SPL return on a two-year deal. Boyle began his career with Everton, joining their academy in 2003 before earning a professional contract after two successful years. During his three years with the Toffees, he appeared for Norwich and Crewe Alexandra on loan and joined Dumbarton on his release from Goodison in January 2009. In the remainder of that season he went on to make 17 appearances in helping Dumbarton to the Third Division title. Thistle then snapped up the defender on a two-year contract and he made 54 appearances in total for the Firhill club, scoring five times. Boyle becomes manager Jim McIntyre's second signing in the week the transfer window opened after Paul Burns' arrival from Queen of the South.
