Midfielder waiting to learn if contract will be extended

Neil Lennon admits he is not in a position to say whether Celtic will take up the option to extend Zheng Zhi's contract. Chinese midfielder Zheng joined Celtic last September after leaving Charlton Athletic and he has made 19 appearances in all competitions for the club. He scored his first goal for the Bhoys on Sunday when he grabbed a second-half winner in the final day 2-1 success at Hearts. After the game, Zheng asked Lennon about his future, but the caretaker boss revealed he was unable to provide the 29-year-old with an answer. "We have an option on his contract, and he actually asked me after the game what was happening," said Lennon. "I had to tell him, 'I can't give you an answer, son'. It must be a difficult situation for him. "He looked much more comfortable when he moved into a central position. "Technically, he is very, very good and, when he played against Motherwell recently, he was excellent. "His goal against Hearts was wonderful, and I felt he could have got another one or two with the positions he got into."
