MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND - AUGUST 16: Dean Brill of Inverness gestures during the Scottish Premiership League Match against Motherwell

Colchester midfielder Sammie Szmodics will miss the visit of Luton as he starts his recovery from a broken leg.

Szmodics had only just returned from four months out with an ankle injury when he suffered the break during last weekend's defeat at Crewe.

Veteran goalkeeper Dean Brill is in contention to be in the squad against his former club after missing 10 matches with a knee problem, while defender Richard Brindley has recovered from his calf injury and midfielder Owen Garvan (knee) will be assessed.

Defender Tom Eastman (ankle) and midfielder Doug Loft (Achilles) have a chance to return before the end of the season, but leading scorer Kurtis Guthrie (ankle), midfielder Craig Slater (groin), defender Frankie Kent (ankle) and forward Denny Johnstone (knee) are all long-term absentees along with club captain Luke Prosser (knee).

Luton should have top-scorer Danny Hylton available after coming off at half-time during their draw at Newport on Tuesday.

Defenders Johnny Mullins and Jack Senior will miss out, however, with the former limping off in midweek through injury.

Midfielder Cameron McGeehan's progress from a broken leg is ahead of schedule and will not be rushed back this season.
