Arthur Read and Jack Payne scored late on for Colchester to defeat MK Dons and collect their first points of the Sky Bet League Two season.
With 10 minutes of normal time remaining, Samson Tovide found Read, with the substitute calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.
Payne's audacious effort in the fourth minute of stoppage time rose beyond Tom McGill and secured all three points for the home side.
