Barnsley 2-2 Colchester: Tykes denied by late strike
Saturday 30 April 2016 18:37, UK
Barnsley's quest for a Sky Bet League 1 play-off place will go down to the final day after Tom Lapslie's last-gasp goal secured a 2-2 draw for relegated Colchester at Oakwell.
George Moncur scored a first-half opener to put the visitors ahead before Ashley Fletcher looked to have won it with a second-half brace.
However, Colchester claimed a point deep into stoppage time through Lapslie's header, leaving the sixth-placed Tykes level on 71 points with Scunthorpe.
The visitors started brightly, and were almost ahead within the opening minute when Moncur hit the post.
Sam Winnall forced visiting goalkeeper Elliot Parish into a wonderful reaction save from five yards, before he denied Marc Roberts from the resulting corner as the home side improved.

After Roberts hit the bar with another header, Moncur put the U's ahead with a fine goal on the break in the 42nd minute.
Barnsley improved in the second half and drew level in the 57th minute when Fletcher nutmegged his man and produced a low finish.
Fletcher thought he had won it with 10 minutes to go as he headed a rebound into an empty net, only for Lapslie to head home at the death to steal a point.
