Azerbaijan GP: Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bulls collide

Red Bull team-mates Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were involved in a dramatic collision at the Azerbaijan GP, ending both their races.

The two drivers were battling for position and racing hard all race, and Ricciardo, who had just been overtaken via the overcut in the pits by Verstappen, slammed into the back of the Dutchman's RB14 when attempting a move for fourth into Turn One.

The incident, which will prompt questions into Red Bull's strategy, came after the pair touched on several occasions during the race.

But the earlier contact was nothing compared to the huge shunt on Lap 41, with both cars spinning into the run-off area.

"He was too committed there, Ricciardo", said Sky F1's Paul di Resta, before also admitting: "But I think Max did move under-braking more than once."

The collision, which will be investigated by race stewards, also brought out a Safety Car, which in turn allowed Lewis Hamilton to win an incredible race with Sebastian Vettel locking up and Valtteri Bottas suffering a puncture.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was less than amused, and said both drivers were to blame.

Both Verstappen and Ricciardo, meanwhile, have apologised and been handed reprimands by the Baku stewards.
