Conor McGregor should not box Floyd Mayweather, says Andre Ward

Andre Ward believes it would "not be a good idea" for Conor McGregor to take on Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring.
But Ward, who will take on Sergey Kovalev live on Sky Sports on Saturday night, would be interested to see the duo square off under MMA rules.
McGregor has long been linked with a clash with retired boxing legend Mayweather (49-0-KO26), who officially brought the curtain down on his career in September 2015 with a points win over Andre Berto.
Mayweather previously claimed McGregor was the only name he would ever consider returning for, but admitted in September he had given up on trying to arrange a show-stopping fight with the two sides apparently unable to agree terms.
McGregor said: "I want $100m cash to fight him in boxing rules because he's afraid of a real fight."

But Ward says that would be a mistake.
"It is not a good idea at all - he needs to leave that alone," said Ward. "And of course, on the flip side, if Floyd went to the Octagon, you would go with Conor McGregor.
"I wouldn't mind seeing it. I respect Conor for calling Floyd out but I think Floyd has to be careful too because a lot of that stuff is for publicity and he is just in some respects using Floyd's name and Floyd is a legend so he has to be careful not to jump into that."
