Watch Ohara Davies finish Chaquib Fadli in the second round

British hopes David Price and Ohara Davies both recorded second-round stoppage wins in Germany on Saturday night.

Liverpool heavyweight Price (21-3-KO18) showed good punch economy before producing a rare body-shot finish of Croatia's Ivica Perkovic (22-31-KO17).

Price had his man down with his first combination; a spearing right uppercut followed by a clubbing left hook and the job was finished in the second session when the underdog waved off the fight himself after sustaining a left to the solar plexus.

The 33-year-old said afterwards: "It was about using the night for a purpose and getting back under the lights, going through the fight-day routine and using things we've been working on in the gym.

If the opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua came along then obviously I'd take it.

"It was worthwhile to come out injury-free and I'm good to go again. I didn't want to get in and bish-bash out. I wanted to get something from it. I didn't get my jab off as well as I'd like because he was leaning away.

"I've got to be in the mix with the top 10 heavyweights in the world. I'm working hard and I've been in the gym all summer. In the past, I'd have been top 10 on my day. The difference is now, I'm going to get in there and do it.

"If the opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua came along then obviously I'd take it. It's a life-changing opportunity."

David Price said he would take the Anthony Joshua fight if it was offered to him.

Davies, who is unbeaten as an amateur or as a professional, was equally impressive in dispatching Chaquib Fadli (13-8-KO7)

The Hackney fighter moved to 13-0-KO11 with a destructive performance; knocking the Frenchman down in the first round with a vicious left hook and finishing the job with a huge overhand right in the second.

"I felt that at times he tried to get in my head with his antics but in boxing, it's all about being a smart fighter and that's what I did. I stayed calm. He felt it got stopped too early but I could've stopped him in the first round.

"I feel really strong at this weight. I'll face anyone at this weight. I want anyone Eddie Hearn can get me - the most money and for a good title. There's nobody in particular."

Ohara Davies ready to face anyone in the division

Promoter Eddie Hearn said of Davies: "We've got two opponents we're look at particularly. There's Tyrone Nurse for the British title and there's Andrea Scarpa for the WBC silver title. Ohara is the type of fighter you can move really quickly."

Former WBA world super-middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz continued to work his way back towards the top with a sixth-round stoppage victory over Guillermo Ruben Andino.

The 21-year-old German (24-2-KO22) was dethroned by Giovanni De Carolis via a late stoppage in January but has now recorded a hat-trick of stoppages of his own since.
