Dereck Chisora was hit by a bottle at the weigh-in for the Kubrat Pulev fight

Dereck Chisora was struck by a plastic bottle at the weigh-in for Saturday's European heavyweight title fight with Kubrat Pulev.

Pulev (22-1-KO12) clashed heads with the Zimbabwe-born Londoner (25-5-KO17) at the press conference in Hamburg earlier this week and once again the pair went forehead-to-forehead after they weighed in for the clash, which also serves as an eliminator for the IBF belt.

A plastic bottle was then thrown from Pulev's side of the stage; striking Chisora in the shoulder, and 'Del Boy' quickly redirected his anger towards its thrower.

Chisora exclusively told Sky Sports: "When I jumped on the scales everything was going well. Face-off, next minute I got hit with a bottle in my face. Not by Pulev, by a guy who came on the stage with Pulev.

"He hit me with a bottle on my face. I stepped and looked back. I thought I was bleeding, but I was not bleeding.

"I was like 'I'm not going to take this lying down', because first of all, this is two guys coming to fight, you don't need to bring no weapons. There is no point for that."

I stepped and looked back. I thought I was bleeding, but I was not bleeding.

In the chaos that followed, Chisora - who was wearing his trademark Union Jack bandana over his face - surged off the stage in an attempt to confront the man with security struggling to prevent the event turning ugly.

The former British and Commonwealth champion appeared to throw several bouncers aside in pursuit of the man, who was eventually escorted towards a back door which led to a kitchen. Again, Chisora gave chase, barging his way past those attempting to block his path.

Chisora had previously grabbed Pulev at their press conference

Despite one of Chisora's promoters, Nisse Sauerland, trying to calm his fighter down, the fracas continued in a corridor as broadcast companies and photographers jostled for the best angle of the rampage.
