Ryan Farrag crowned European bantamweight champion

Ryan Farrag upset two-weight world title challenger Stephane Jamoye to claim the vacant European bantamweight title in Liege on Friday night.

Farrag returned from 10 months outside the ring to stop hometown favourite Stephane Jamoye in nine rounds.

The 27-year-old from Liverpool has now won 14 fights and is unbeaten in four years since suffering his his sole defeat against IBF interim champion Lee Haskins.

Meanwhile, Andrew Selby made an impressive start to his professional career with a stoppage win in Newport.

The Welsh flyweight floored Haji Juma in the first and third rounds before stopping the Tanzanian in the fourth.
